Dehydrated Milk Kefir Grains

Start making homemade milk kefir with our dehydrated milk kefir grains. Once rehydrated and activated at home, our milk kefir grains will allow you to make fresh, naturally fermented milk kefir from your own kitchen.

Milk kefir grains are a living culture containing a diverse community of microorganisms that ferment milk, creating a deliciously tangy, creamy cultured drink. Once your grains have been successfully rehydrated and are active, they can be reused for ongoing batches of homemade milk kefir.

How to Activate Dehydrated Kefir Grains

Because the grains have been dehydrated, they need to be rehydrated and gradually reactivated before producing regular batches of kefir.

Simply follow the included rehydration instructions, using fresh pasteurised milk and allowing the grains time to recover their fermentation activity. During the first few batches, the grains may take some time to become fully active. Once established, they can be used repeatedly to make fresh milk kefir.

What Is Milk Kefir?

Milk kefir is a fermented milk drink made using kefir grains. During fermentation, the living culture interacts with the milk to produce a naturally tangy flavour and creamy consistency.

Milk kefir is packed with probiotics which can support digestion and enhance immunity.
